Fisher Studios is about to embark on an exciting period of growth and re-invention as we confront the challenges of Covid-19 face on, and prepare for the recovery phase of the pandemic. As a result, we are presently looking for an inspired, positive and enthusiastic candidate to fill the following role:

Production Manager

A Marketing, Communications, Business Development and Administration Role

Fisher Studios has been established in Oxford since 2000, when David Fisher started the business as a freelance photographer. He opened his first studio in Headington in 2002 before moving to its current location in East Oxford in 2015.

Over the years it has grown from a small, purely location based photography service, into a busy commercial photography practice, providing both location and studio-based photography. It has endured various dramatic changes to the industry before the most recent effects of Covid-19, such as the shift to digital in the early 2000’s, the 2008 recession and the influence of social media of the past decade.

In keeping with this spirit of adaptation and entrepreneurship, David is excited to be entering this new phase of expansion which will take advantage of his strong position as one of Oxford’s most established and experienced photographers, in building a formidable team and a resilient business.

The Role:

The Production Manager will look after the day-to-day running of the business, with a primary focus on Marketing and Business Development. Whilst the ‘production management’ element of the role is its foundation, this is also the means of ensuring that the holder of this post is fully immersed in the business and has a first hand understanding of the opportunities to grow and develop the Fisher Studios brand. As such, we anticipate the ideal candidate is more likely to come from a marketing background rather than an administrational one.

The role will suit someone with keen communication skills – both written and spoken – and who has an eye for photography but without any desire to be a professional photographer themselves. They will also be brimming with marketing ideas and inspiration.

(Please note: This role is not a stepping stone to working as a photographer and is therefore not suitable for anyone wanting to be a photographer – student, novice, expert or otherwise.)

You will be responsible for managing all communications, including emails, phone calls, in person client contact, blog posts and developing and maintaining a social media strategy, with a focus on LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram. You will also look after various administrational tasks including diary management, producing quotes and invoices, responding to enquiries, arranging the logistics of photography shoots and preparing risk assessments.

Part-time, flexible hours with full time potential.

A competitive salary is on offer, commensurate with age and experience.

Please apply via email including a covering letter and CV to before Monday 19th October, 2020.
