We take morale very seriously here at Fisher Studios and what better way to boost this (other than donut Thursdays of course) than a visit from a doggo. This is Jackson, a 3 year old yellow Labrador, who graces the studio with his presence from time to time. Other than the occasional chasing of tails and the stealing of the door stop when he’s bored, he’s no trouble at all.
Whilst pet photography is not one of our markets, I thought I’d take the opportunity whist Jackson was here and opted for a black background and a narrow soft box from the side to highlight the texture of his fur and make him look extra shiny. I didn’t want to shoot for too long as he did get very excited and I also didn’t want to overstimulate him with the flash. On reflection I think another fill light would have been nice, as by only using one light we’re losing some of his facial features to shadow here.
